  Hardesty's History of Kanawha County Edgar Alonzo Botkin - is a son of Chapman Johnson Botkin and Sarah (Bender) Botkin, who have long made their home in Kanawha County and are still honored residents here. He was born in Charleston, Aug 6, 1855 and has spent his entire life in this county, where he is now honored with the representative office of city councilman, to which he was elected in 1882 for three years. At Liberty, VA, June 14, 1877, Edgar A Botkin was joined in wedlock with Mary L Marsh, and they have two sons: Edward J, born July 24, 1878, and Clarence H, born Aug 6, 1880. The wife of Mr Botkin was born in Charlottsville, VA, a daughter of Robert and Ann J (Hoffman) Marsh. Edgar A Botkin pursues the profession of dentristry at Charleston.
