ALTO - Elmer Henry Click, 85, of Mount Alto, departed this life September 1, 2010, at Pleasant Valley Hospital following a brief illness. He was born July 10, 1925, in Mount Alto, the son of the late Daniel Hobart and Chloe Beatrice Click. He was a graduate of Union High School, Cottageville, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was co-owner, operator and retired from Click Brothers Quaker State Service Station in Mount Alto. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and attended Guiding Star Christian Advent Church, Letart. He was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Ada Lee (Hannum) Click. Survivors include his son, David Elmer Click, of Mount Alto; daughter Penny Lee Thaxton and her husband, George, of Cottageville; brother Delmer Click of Mount Alto; three grandsons Kyle Thaxton, Kevin Thaxton, and Kurtis Thaxton; and one great-granddaughter Pamela Lee Thaxton. Graveside service, with full military honors, will be 1 p.m. Saturday, September 4, 2010, at Hopewell Cemetery, Mount Alto, with the Rev. Gerald Sayre officiating. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV. Ripley Jackson Herald September 9, 2010.
