He was a retired merchant and farmer and school bus driver for the Braxton County Board of Education. He was a member of the Lions Club and Villa Nova Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War I. Surviving: wife, Mae Knapp Davis Hall; daughters, Rosalie Nottingham of Servia, Agnes Slack of Madison; stepdaughters, Mrs. Phyllis Tondrau of Charleston, Mrs. Carol Sierka of Brookeville, Md., Sally Lloyd of St. Albans; stepson, Richard Davis of Brookfield, Conn.; brothers, Herbert of St. Petersburg, Fla., Perry Dick of Frametown; sister, Mrs. Delma Knotts of Orma; three grandchildren, 13 stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandson. Service will be 10 a.m. Monday in Villa Nova Baptist Church with the Rev. James H. Neal and the Rev. Roy G. "J.R." Mullins officiating. Burial will be in Hall Cemetery, Servia. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Skidmore-Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway.
