Mildred Marie Casto 89, of Marietta passed away at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 30, 2008) at Summit Acres Hursing Home in Caldwell.
She was born Nov. 24, 1918, in Whipple, Ohio, to the late William and Nellie Smith Gerken.
She is survived by daughters, Bonita "Bonnie" Schafer (Gary), and Julie Ann Bauer (Mark); sons, Jack Richard Casto (Priscilla) all of Marietta and Michael Lynn Casto (Eloise) of Ontario, N.Y.; nine grandchildren, Victoria Ann Casto of Cincinnati, Laurie Ann Neader (Rusty), Lynn Ann Erb (Jeff), Bradley J. Bauer (Megan), Joshua R. Bauer (Casie Peton), Brandon T. Bauer, all of Marietta, Benjamin W. Casto (Kristen), Michelle I. Cole (Jonathon) both of New York, and Jared C. Bauer (Ashley Tucker) of Cincinnati; nine great-grandchildren, Jansen Ann and Jessica Ann Mossack, Brett A. and Brooke Ann Neader, and Theodore Bauer, all of Marietta, and Layla and Jasmine Cole, Bradley and Owen Casto, all of New York.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Richard Casto, on Jan. 27, 1976; a brother, Ray Gerken (Elsie); and a sister, Anna Orr (Bert).
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., with the Rev. Wendy Erb officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
