A son, Charles, lived in Wirt Co, formerly Wood Co, until a few years before his death, which occured at the home of his son, Charles, in Jackson Co. He came from Fauquier Co soon after the War of 1812. He had a number of slaves and was Sheriff of Wood Co. Of his children: Susan m. Raleigh M Kyger Sarah m. William H Smith, their son William H m. a Jackson Martha m. a Sims Levin Steptoe A Rector married a Sherman and lived at Little Sandy. Charley Rector, who was a candidate for Sheriff of Jackson Co, was a grandson of the Charles Rector above, who must have moved to Jackson County in the '40s. Enoch Rector, the Baptist preacher, was a son of Thomas, brother of Benjamin.
