Preceded in death by her husband, Whitmer, and daughters, Patsy Casto and Bunny Staats, she is survived by her daughter, Ruth (Sonny) Leighton; stepdaughter, June (Eddie) Parsons; sisters, Hester Holder and Lana (Jarroll) O'Dell; brother, Blumefield (Macel) Backus; four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and five great-great- grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2005 at the Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (Route 619), with Pastor Don Gainer officiating.
