Minerva J. SAYRE DUNLAP
Minerva J. SAYRE DUNLAP (married 17 May 1877, JCMR.) d/o David and Minerva (STONE) SAYRE, married William C. DUNLAP, who was born in Barbour County, WV., in 1852. Word was received here recently by relatives of the death of "Aunt Nerva DUNLAP" of Inglewood, California.
Aunt Nerva, 84 years old, had been in failing health for some time, all that loving hands and professional care could do was done for her, yet at 1:30 a.m.; February 16, she passed on to join her companion and other loved ones. She was the daughter of David SAYRE, and was born and raised on Cow Run, Jackson County. She married W. C. DUNLAP and spent their younger days in this county, Mr. DUNLAP at one time being in the mercantile business at Cottageville. They moved west several years ago and settled in California. "Uncle Crate" passed
away a few years ago.
Surviving are the four daughters: Iva, Theresa, Willia and Edna, and one son, Dan. One brother, "Uncle Dave", is the only member of the David SAYRE family left. A brother, Oscar, aged 86, died on last September 5, at Cottageville. (Written by a niece, Ruth SAYRE KING). (Jackson Herald, Fri., March 12, 1943)
