One the 11th of January, 1926, Enoch Estep died at his house at Rock House, Raleigh County, at the age of 90. He was born on Big Coal Laurel - get the time - on the 5th of December, 1835, in Andrew Jackson's administration. He lived at his birthplace until about 1900, when he moved into Raleigh. During the days when Enoch lived on Laurel, five miles above Seth, in an old log house built by his father and in which Enoch was born, before the days of the railroad in Boone, older residents from West Fork, Pond Fork, Buffalo, in Logan county and from Wyoming county at times rembered stopping with Uncle Enoch on their way to and from Marmet - then Brownstown- perhaps they also remember fireside tales before an eight-foot open fireplace.
