Cleora Sharleen Boswell, 78, of Given, WV, left this earth suddenly on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, following an automobile accident near her home.
Sharleen was born on July 24, 1936, in Given, WV, the first born of seven children to the late Roy Madison and Artie Cleora (Lathey) Sayre.
After attending Walton High School, she married her sweetheart, Otis Warren “Jack” Boswell on December 22, 1956. They were inseparable until his death in May 2014. Her sister, Cheryl Parker, also preceded her in death.
She was a faithful Christian and attended Given United Methodist Church. Sharleen worked many years at Thomas and Wolfe, B & B Market, and J & J Custom Meats where her customers looked forward to her lighthearted and considerate spirit.
Sharleen’s God-given purpose was to be a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her compassionate nature endeared her to all who knew her. She loved large family gatherings, vacationing at the beach with her siblings and in-laws, and actively participating in the life of her family. She learned the value of hard work and devotion on her parent’s farm in Cicerone, WV. She had a zest for life only matched by her strong will and determination.
She is survived by her children, Sherry Colleen Barnette of Evans, Mary Ann Boswell of Ripley, and Warren Kent “Kenny” Boswell of Covington, VA; her grandchildren, Adena Barnette and Andrea Reneau of Ripley, Austin Drew Barnette of Evans, Halea (Gustavo) Solano of Raleigh, N.C., Mary Elise Boswell-Clark of Ripley and Zachary Boswell of Covington, VA; her great-grandchildren, Dominik Solano, Harlow Reneau, Huck Reneau, and Mikael Solano; siblings, Kathy Coulson of Parkersburg, Shelba Kniceley of Gallipolis, OH, Keith Sayre of Hurricane, Jim Sayre of Cross Lanes, and Nola Myers of Jackson, OH, and her many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Service will be 5 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Evans, WV, with Pastor Lloyd Keith officiating. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
Committal service will be 1 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2014, at the Given Cemetery.
