- Rev. Adrian Gordon Fisher, age 98, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, after a long illness. He was born on February 6, 1919, in Jackson County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Hobson D. and Myrtle Fisher, and his wife, Lucille Fisher.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Friday, December 29, at Cooke Funeral Home Chapel, 2002 20th Street, Nitro, with Gary Monday officiating. Friends may visit between noon and 1 p.m. and the funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Emma Chapel Cemetery, Liberty.
He is survived by two sons, Robert (Joyce) of Nitro and Rick (Janet) of Florida; one brother, H. D. Fisher (Joyce) of South Charleston; and grandchildren, Greg Carpenter (Annette) and Scott Fisher (Rhonda). He is also survived by great-grandchildren Luke and Matthew Carpenter, and Rachel and Robert Fisher.
The family would like to thank the staff of Cedar Ridge Nursing Home for the care extended to Mr. Fisher for the past two years.
