      The Twenty second day of January in the year of our Lord 1775
      I William Roby son of John of Charles County in the province of Maryland being very weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks to God - therefore calling to the mind mortality of my body and that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament. That is to say principally and first of all, I give and recommend my soul to the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a decent Christain burial at the descretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God. and as ----- such worldly estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me in this life -- I give, devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form
      First I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Elizabeth during her widowhood all the land I now posses I also give to the said Elizabeth my riding mare known by the name of Sall (?) and the side saddle she has now in her possesion over & above the rest of my estate.
      I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved son Arthur John all the land I now posses at the decease or marriage of my said wife Elizabeth. I likewise give and bequeath to my dearly beloved son Laurence my gun - and my fiddle I give to my son Arthur John. I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved daughter Ann one cow and yearling and the remaining part of my estate esclusive of my wifes third - I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved Children viz Ann Lawrence Elizabeth & Arthur John to be equally divided among them the four children aforesd
      I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved son Owin one shilling sterling - I likewise give and bequeath to my dearly beloved daughter Esther Copper one shilling sterling--
      I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved daughter Mary Spain one shilling sterling - I give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved son William one shilling sterling. I likewise constitute make and ordain my dearly beloved wife Elizabeth my sole executrix of this my last will and testament and I hereby utterly disalow revoke and disanull all and every other testament will legacies and bequests by me in any way willed and bequeathed each and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal. The day and year above written.

That hath come to her hand ___ and that she doth not know of any other. --- Certified by -- Dan'l Senifer Dy of that county -
