Elias GRADY was born on July 25, 1829 in Rockingham County, VA. He is the son of Dennis GRADY and Melvina VANCE. He married Susan Martha BOWEN on Dec. 24, 1851 in Lewis County, WV. She is the daughter of James BOWEN and Nancy KEMPER. He fought in the Civil War in Jackson, Lewis, Roane, Calhoun, Wood and finally ended up in Columbiana County Ohio. Susan Martha BOWEN was born on July 3, 1833 in according to a source, Orange County, VA (it may be Farquier Co. VA). He moved around a lot until his final residence. He died on June 11, 1907 in Columbiana County, Ohio. Susan Martha BOWEN GRADY died on June 12, 1911 in Wellsville, Columbiana County, Ohio.
