Coughenour, David, son of above (Christian), born Augusta Co, 1820, Married Rachel McCarty born here 1822, d/o Jonas & Ester S McCarty who came here in 1800 from Greenbrier Co. (gives list of children)
David Coughenour died at his home near Cheshire, Saturday, April 14, 1900. He was born in Augusta County, Va, Aug. 6, 1820. He came to Gallia Co. with his parents in 1830 and settled in Cheshire township,where he has always lived. He married Rachel McCarty in 1843. They were the parents of eleven children, two sons and nine daughters, all save two daughters surviving him. He had held,
membership with the First Kyger F.W.B. Church since 1841. He was a man of great worth to the church and community. His funeral was held Monday morning at the church, services conducted by Rev. W.J. Fulton of Rio Grande, which was largely attended.
