Both his and his younger bother Philip's headstones have birth year of 1837, but they were not twins. Chris was born in Germany and was 13 in 1850 and Philip was born in PA and was 12. Census was taken on 10/10/1850, but the age was supposed to be as of June 1, so if Philip was 12, he would have been born in Dec 1837 and if Chris was 13, he should have been born in June 1836, but since the census was taken in Oct, and they weren't careful about the age as of June 1, Chris would have been 13 in June 1850 if he was born in June 1837, and Philip would have had to have been born in 1838, making him not quite 12.
