Oma M. Miniard, 91, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 1, 2002.
She was born April 11, 1911, in Ripley, W. Va., to the late Peter and Margaret (Fields) Casto.
Oma was a member of Grace Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery, and was a clerk for O'Neils for 25 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Miniard, in 1961; son, Robert Miniard; brothers, Denny, Carlos, Sheridan, Joe, and John Casto; sisters, Delphia Morris, Dicia Akins, and twin sister, Ora Southall.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Miniard of Akron; daughter-in-law, Bernice Miniard of Copley; sister-in-law, Jean Casto of Akron; grandchildren, Kenneth, Timothy, and Mary Beth (Michael); great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Marcia.
Family and friends will be received TODAY from 4 to 8 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m., with Rev. Phil Hulgin officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank the 3rd floor nurses at Akron General Medical Center and the nurses and staff at the Arbors of Fairlawn.
