I take pleasure in writing you in answer to your letter which I read the other day. I am well and I hope these few lines will find you all well. I am getting along reasonably well with my studies. We are having a nice th***i*re in this city different religious denominations Methodist, Baptist, Campbelites, Roman Catholics and different other denomination. I go to church every Sunday and Sunday night. The Paster of the Methodist Church which I have been attending a a grand preacher. He preached as good a sermon last Sunday as I have ever heard. I was to hear Brother Hobs, the Campbelite Preacher today. I suppose Mr. Rhodes is very proud of that big pension that Uncle Sam has given him. You wanted to know if I could pickup some of the girls here. If I would make a grab, I might but I would not know which one to grab at they are all so pretty. If I was a Morman, I would bring a car full of them home this spring. (I have said enough on this subject).
I am anxious to hear from the election in W. VA. KY went Democrats but this city went Republicans. There was a lively time here the day of the election. We have a splendid boarding place now and a good room well furnished. We pay $12 per month for room and board. There are 6 West Verginians board at this place and three gentlemen from Texas.
This is all I will write at this time.
Yours,
Columbus Casto
