Charles Ray Houchen, 81, of Cottageville, WV, departed this life February 15, 2002 in Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, following an extended illness.
He was born June 3, 1920, in Ripley, WV, a son of the late, Corbett and Mary (Harmon) Houchen.
He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, retired from Kaiser Aluminum with 24 years service, and was a member of the United Steelworkers Union #5668. He was a Methodist by faith.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Jeanette R. (Sayre) Houchen; sons, Rick Houchen, Tracy Houchen, and Mitch Houchen all of Cottageville; 5 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Ray Houchen; brother, Ernest Houchen, sisters, Clorice Smith and Clarice Beymer.
Service will be Monday, February 18, 200211 am at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with the Rev. Gerald B. Sayre and the Rev. Phillip Scarberry officiating. Entombment will follow in Jackson County Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Cottageville. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Charles Ray Houchen, 81, of Cottageville, WV, departed this life February 15, 2002 in Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, following an extended illness.
