  Notes	The Gallipolis Daily Tribune September 22, 1943 Samuel Halfhill Died 12:20 a.m. Funeral is Set For 2 Friday At Poplar Ridge Samuel A. Halfhill died at 12:20 this morning at his home at Poplar Ridge. He would have been 85 years old on Octobert 17 and had been in poor health a long time. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. (EWT) Friday at the Poplar Ridge Baptist Church, with Rev. J. L. Stephenson in charge. Burial at same place by Coleman & Son. Decedent was a son of Jacob and Abbie Barrett Halfhill and was born between the eastern end of Poplar Ridge and the Blue Sulphur Springs farm on October 17, 1856. All his life was spent in that immediate community, where he was esteemed highly for many sterling qualities. On August 29, 1890, he married Frances Thomas, who survives him; and is also survived by one brother, Frank, of the same neighborhood.
