Lloyd Herbert MADDOX
Funeral services for Lloyd Herbert MADDOX, Parchment farmer who took his own life with a shotgun charge into his head late last Wednesday evening, were held at the Grasslick Baptist church at Kenna Friday afternoon with Rev. L. R. MAHONEY of Ripley in charge and burial was in the church cemetery. Vail Mortuary had charge of the funeral plans.
Mr. MADDOX had attempted earlier in the year to take his life by poisoning. Ill health was believed to have been the cause but for some time members of the family had thought his health had improved and he had seemed more cheerful than usual.
The deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. O'Dell PARSONS MADDOX, his mother, Mrs. Delilah Belle (HILL) MADDOX, two sisters, Mrs. Russell (Pearlie M.) HARRISON of Ripley, and Mrs. W. W. (Ina Myrtle) WAUGH of Ostrander, Ohio. His father, Charles Green MADDOX (died 27 Nov 1935), and a brother, Roma Boyd MADDOX (died 28 Oct 1915), preceded him in death. (The notice of Herbert MADDOX's death was in the Herald, dated Fri., 20 June 1941) (27 June 1941)
