John House:
The first settler at Buffalo was Joe Miller, who married Caroline Parsons. Afterwards, he lived on the Davis farm, on the Right Fork of Reedy, above Greenbrier, being the first settler there.
Miller was a brother of Lewis Miller, who lived opposite Beech Grove, on Left Reedy. Some say he started to Oregon, and was killed by the indians on the overland trail, others that he was going by sea and was lost on the water, as was his brother.
