      Pioneer History of Meigs Co, OH to 1949:
      Isaac Baldwin Sherman (Feb 6, 1800-1852) m. Nancy Elizabeth (DeWitt). Made his home in Boston, Mass with uncle and aunt until he came to Virginia in 1815. Owned three thousand acres of land in Jackson co, was Sheriff of the county, buried at Muses Bottom, WV.

      Able Sherman (Feb 16, 1755 - Aug 25, 1822. Born in Rhode Island. Died in Mason Co, Va. Buried in cemetery on Hubert M Price farm, Meigs co, OH. Lived a while on Blenerhassett Island, then moved to Sterling Bottom, OH. (The first Post office in Lebanon twp, Meigs county, was located at Sterling Bottom, about 3/4 mile north of the present village of Portland) Family grown when he came to VA.

      (I assume this indicates that the author of this article Ernestine Price of Portland, believed Isaac was the son of Abel - bb)
