  Notes	Friday, June 13, 1902 DIED: On Saturday evening last Margaret J. Harper, nee Ferguson, of complication of diseases. Mrs. Harper was born in Belfast, Ireland November 23, 1823, hence was 78 years, 6 months and 15 days old at the time of death. She came to this country in childhood, and was married to THOMAS HARPER April 4, 1847, and ten children, five daughters and five sons were born to this union. Three sons, two daughters and her husband preceeded her to the spirit land, the rest of the children were privileged to be with her during her sickness and death. Twenty years of her life were spent in Virginia during the Civil war period, and they were years of privation, hardships and suffering, but being patient through suffering she endured it all. She came to Vermillion in the fall of 1878, where she had resided ever since. In childhood she joined the M E church, and lived an earnest, devoted christian life. Her funeral was held...the house being filled to capacity, and a large concourse of friends followed the remains to Frankfort, where tender hands laid them to rest by the side of her husband and deceased children.
