Coonie Casto 95, Ripley
RIPLEY - Coonie Casto, 95, of Ripley, passed away Wednesday, July 23 at Eldercare of Ripley following an extended illness.
She was a native of Jackson County, daughter of the late Charlie and Lee Chancey Southall. She was a lifelong homemaker and loving mother and grandmother.
Surviving: son Rex Casto of Statesville, North Carolina; daughters Linda Fisher of Gay and Jean Jeffries of Gay; sister Virginia Smallridge of Akron, Ohio; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, daughter Janet Fields, six brothers and one sister.
Funeral service was Saturday, July 26 at 1:00 p.m. at the Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at the Aplin Cemetery, Gay.
