Their suggestion:
THIS IS A NEWER RECORD REGARDING ELISHA COBB WHOSE FATHER GEORGE B. COBB WAS MY GR,GR,GR UNCLE:
ELISHA COBB, DATE OF DEATH 20 SEPTEMBER 1864, WAS RE-INTERRED IN ANNAPOLIS MARYLAND NATIONAL CEMETERY IN GRAVE #1400, NO DATE ON FORM, BUT FORM ITSELF WAS REVISED AS OF 1928 AND THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE OF THE FORM ITSELF GIVE A DATE FOR THE NATIONAL CEMETERY REGULATIONS ACT OF 1931, SO THE RE-INTERMENT MOST LIKELY OCCURRED AFTER THIS LATER DATE.
THIS INFORMATION IS ACCORDING TO:
U.S. NATIONAL CEMETERY INTERMENT CONTROL FORMS 1928-1962
PAGE NUMBERS 97-98 (OF INTERACTIVE FORM) FOUND ON ANCESTRY.COM
Some other information that I have just found is also in regard to his death. Apparently he died at a Union "field hospital"/Confederate POW camp called Camp Parole near Annapolis, Maryland and was (most likely) originally interred at Ash Grove Cemetery that was then later renamed Annapolis Maryland National Cemetery. Some of these records are available on ancestry.com and other information was found @ http://www.nps.gov/nr/travel/national_cemeteries/maryland/Annapolis_National_Cemetery.html
Thanks again and have a very good day!
