Dennie Willis Garens, 81, of Brady, Texas, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2002, in Eden, Texas. He was born March 1, 1921, in Logan County West Virginia, to Robert Harlow Garnes and Isa Dora (Randolph) Garnes and was a Brady resident since early 1980's. Mr. Garens was a machine operator. He was a member of the Heart of Texas Ham Radio Operators group.
He is survived by his sons Larry (Jan) Garens of Brady, James Garens of Wadsworth, David Garens of Canton, Mark (Linda) Garens of Creston, Christopher (Rhonda) Garens of Sullivan, and Paul Garens of Wadsworth; daughters, Judith (Ed) Heckman of Canton, Brenda (Vancel) Zacharias of Westfield Center, Dennita (Danny) Hinman of Brady, and Darlynn (Tracy) Atwood of Wooster; 22 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Riegel, whom he married in July of 1940. No services are scheduled, there will be a cremation.
