In the book's section on the Revolution, in a footnote,
there is mention of a paper in the "possession of the West
Virginia Historical Society" which abstracts the payroll of
Capt. John WHITZELL's [Whetzel/Whetsel/Wetzel etc.] Company
of Rangers of "Monongahala and Ohio counties" which included
