Nina Adelene Casto, 92, of Ripley passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at Jackson General Hospital.
She was born June 14, 1916, in Jackson County, a daughter to the late Renzie and Letha Rhodes Comer. She worked many years in many restaurants as a manager and cook and enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Kenna David Casto; sons Dewaine Casto, Denvil Casto, and Denzil Casto, and daughter Carolyn Casto.
She is survived by her sons David J. Casto (Phyllis) of Ripley, Dewight Casto of Cottageville; daughters Dorothy Casto of Ripley, Deloris Ann Stutler of Ripley, Donna Steele of Ripley; daughter-in-law Bernice Casto of Ripley; sister Irene Conant of Ripley; niece Marzettia Conant; aunt Mable Pyatt of Barlow, OH; along with 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Service was held Saturday, November 15, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home in Ripley. Burial followed in the Baptist Grove Cemetery, Frozencamp. Friends called from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. Saturday before the service.
Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home served the family.
