Edna (Roush) Parsons arrived in Heaven on January 9, 2007 at 5:10 p.m., where she was greeted by her husband, Mayford.
Born in Gallipolis, Ohio, she had been an area resident most of her life, retiring from Ohio Edison in 1992 after 29 years' service. She had also been employed at Goodyear Aircraft and Diamond Match Company.
Edna was an active member of Wintergreen Ledges Church of God, where she served her Lord through service to others. She was a member of Hill-toppers, was a greeter, provided cookies for visitors, sent out cards, decorated the communion table, visited the sick and did any other job where she saw a need to be met. Edna was a volunteer at St. Thomas Hospital for many, many years.
She loved flowers, gardening, making breads, cookies, jams and candy.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Mayford; sisters, Elma Walker, Eleanor Casey and Ann Roush; brothers, Clarence, Gilbert and John; she is survived by her sister, Garnet Hall of Middleport, Ohio; good friend, Jay Carper; and several nieces, nephews and her Parsons-in-laws.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. TODAY at Wintergreen Ledges Church of God, 1889 Vernon Odom Blvd., Akron, Ohio 44320, with Rev. Jim Roma officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
