Sgt. Jarrett Edward Rhodes Sr., 88, of Walton, passed away Friday, August 10, 2007, at Roane General Hospital following a short illness.
He was a World War II veteran, having honorably served in the U.S. Army for 23 years.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; and six sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Audra Myrle Rhodes; daughter, Faye Armstead of Walton, with whom he made his home; sons, Jarrett Jr. of Pinellas Park, Fla., Michael of Clearwater, Fla., and Roger of Royston, Ga.; sister, Lona Jones of Nitro; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are handled by Matics Funeral Home, Clendenin, with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2007.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 13, with the Rev. Billy G. Cogar officiating. Burial will be in Harper Family Cemetery, Cotton Tree, with full military rites by American Legion Post 61.
