He was a former member of Ripley City Council Planning and Zoning Committee. Surviving: wife, Evelyn; son, Richard of Crab Orchard; daughter, Jean Cooper of Pensacola, Fla.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, with the Rev. Hubert Groves officiating. Burial with Masonic graveside rites will be in Independence Cemetery, Sandyville. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
