STARLING DARE PARSONS
Starling Dare Parsons, 71, of Hurricane passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at Cabell Huntington Hospital following a long illness.
He was a 1958 graduate of Ripley High School and earned his B.S. in business administration from West Virginia State College. He was employed by the West Virginia Department of Transportation for 40 years and worked in the State House. He was also a former co-owner of the Big Chimney Income Tax Service.
Born December 12, 1939, he was the son of the late Richard Parsons and Mamie Casto Parsons.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Nadine Harrison Parsons; sons, Jeff Parsons of Charleston and Todd Parsons of Charleston; brother, Sattis Parsons of Kenna; sisters, Patricia of North Carolina and Jean; mother-in-law, Geniva Harrison of Eleanor; brothers-in-law, Ray (Janet) Harrison of Eleanor and John (Melissa) Harrison of Eleanor; and special nieces and nephews, Eric (Bonnie) Harrison, Tiffany (Josh) Haynes and Melissa (Mike) McMillion.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 17, at Haven of Rest Memory Gardens, Red House, with Pastor David Panaro Jr. officiating. Entombment followed in Haven of Rest Memory Gardens.
Raynes Funeral Home, 2117 Buffalo Road, Buffalo, was in charge of arrangements.
