  Notes	From the 8/14/1974 Charleston Gazette: Earl Raines, 62, of 2124 Breezy Drive, Charleston, died Tuesday in Roane County where he was visiting a son. He suffered an apparent heart attack. A native of Vicars, Mr. Raines was a member of the South East Church of the Nazarene, a retired employee of Libby-Owens Ford Co. with 41 years of service a member of AFL-CIO Local No 1, and the Charleston High School Sponsors Club. Surviving: wife, Jocie; sons, Jackie H. of Arlington, VA, Billy E. of Walton, Rex of Ashland City, Tenn; daughters, Mrs. Virginia McCowan and Mrs. Doris Webb of Vienna, Va; brothers Howard of Chesapeake, Raymond and Orel of Walton; sisters, Mrs. Opal McVey, Mrs. Faye Smith, and Miss Eloise Raines, of Charleston, Mrs. Freda Statts of Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Ruth Shaffer of Beaver, Mrs. Mabel Thomas of Crandenhutten, Ohio. Friends may call today from 7 to 9 pm and Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at J. E. Johnson Funeral Home, Kanawha City.
