Rubin lived in a big house on what was called the Kaplinger Farm, on West Virginia Route 4 on Otter Creek, Braxton County, West Virginia.
After Amanda Rice Bowers died (Rubin's sister-in-law), Rubin got this farm and married "Flo". They had two boys, Max & Jesse, and three girls, Pearl, Grace, and Ursula. Flo divorced him, took the farm, and had it subdivided and sold in lots.
