Hazel N. Rhodes
Hazel N. Rhodes, 80, of Ripley died Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, following an extended illness.
She was born in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Boyd and Hallie Ashby Raines.
She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She is survived by 11 sons, Billy Rhodes of Ripley, Jerry, Jimmy, Jack, Johnny, Jacob, Jessie, Charles Kirby, William and Okey Daniel Rhodes, all of Goshen, Ind., and Joey Rhodes of Harmony; two daughters, Janet Bowles of Charleston and Anna Kay Johns of Kenna; five brothers, Darris, Dickie and Keith Raines, all of Ripley, Joe Raines of Kenna and Roy Raines of Spencer; four sisters, Macie Click of Portland, Ohio, Geraldine Anderson and Janet Cougar, both of Kenna, and Wanda McClain of Tennessee; 45 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James O. Rhodes in 1990; and one sister, Faye Rowley.
Service was Saturday at John H. Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Casto officiating. Burial was in Rhodes Cemetery, Harmony.

She was born November 2, 1923 in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Boyd and Hallie Ashby Raines. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James O. Rhodes in 1990 and one sister, Faye Rowley.
She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Cavlline "Bugsy" Rhodes of Ripley, Jimmy and Florence "Shortie" Rhodes, Jack and Linda Rhodes, Johnny and Janet Rhodes, Jacob and Rosetta Rhodes, Jessie and Donna Rhodes, Charles Kirby and Christina Rhodes, William Rhodes and Okey Daniel Rhodes all of Goshen, Indiana, Joey and Diane Rhodes of Harmony; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Mayford Bowles of Charleston, Anna Kay and Greg Johns of Kenna; four brothers, Darris and Keith Raines both of Ripley, Joe Raines of Kenna and Roy Raines of Spencer; four sisters, Macie Click of Portland, Ohio, Geraldine Anderson and Janet Couger both of Kenna, Wanda McClain of Tennessee; 45 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Saturday, April 3 at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Bill Casto officiating. Burial was in the Rhodes Cemetery, Harmony.
