D. Mae Harper Garrett, 82, of Gandeeville, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008 at home after a sudden illness.
She was born at Harmony, a daughter of the late Smith Vandale and Nellie Hopkins Harper. She was a homemaker and had worked at Charleston General Hospital as a switchboard operator. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and Harmony Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Judy James of Gandeeville; one sister, Karen Raines of Walton; and three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, June Ferrell.
Service is 11 a.m. Friday at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Burial will be in Gandeeville Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today (Thursday) at the funeral home.
