He was born October 13, 1919, in Charleston, a son of the late Kenna K. and Freda Gay (Wendell) Casto. He was also preceded in death his first wife Dee, and by a brother, Kendall K. Casto. He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corp veteran, and was retired from Kroger's with 46 years service and had worked in several Kanawha Valley area stores. He was also a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local #400, Charleston, and attended the Evans Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Natella Orvella (Treadway) Manns Casto; step-children, Linda and Doyle Been of Morgantown, Connie and Allen Tetrick of Millwood, and Bill and Patsy Manns of Ripley; nieces and nephews, Linda and Ron Heffern, Dan and Karen Casto and, John and Michelle Casto, all of Cleveland, OH; uncle, Hoyt Casto of Kenna; 6 step-grandchildren; 11 step-great grandchildren; 4 great nieces and 1 great nephew. Service were held 12 noon Sunday, September 4, 2005 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with the Rev. Benjamin Riggleman officiating. Committal service was at 4 p.m. Sunday, with military honors, in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Cemetery Chapel, Beckley, WV. Visitation was from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
