Auvil Clinton Tolley, 98, of Aplin Ridge passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at his home.
He was born Oct. 11, 1909, and was a son of the late John and Amy Rhodes Tolley. He was a hard worker who, among other things, worked in the oil and gas industry. He also loved farming and was known for his many gardens.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Radie Marie; a grandson, Larry Tolley; and his siblings, Estil, Tressie, Otho and Irene.
He is survived by his sons, Robert Tolley of Canton, Ohio, Ramah Tolley of Charleston, Jimmy Tolley of Elyria, Ohio, and Jack Tolley of Gay; 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Larry Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Tolley family cemetery, Aplin Ridge.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
