Ivy Pearl Jeffries, 79, of Gay, Jackson County, died Monday, September 26, at the Jackson General Hospital following a sudden illness.
She was born in Gay, a daughter of the late Floyd and Mary Alice Payne Ice. She was a housewife.
Surviving are a son, Domzel Jeffries of Gay; four daughters, Mamie Cummings and Ruth Stalnaker, both of Gay, Verna Jones of Harmony, and Evelyn Thomas of Kenn; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; three brothers, James, Junior, and Jack Ice, all of Spencer; five sisters, Radie Tolley of Gay, Emma Brown in Florida, Glada Anderson of Point Pleasant, Josephine Hardesty and Mamie Carpenter, both of Parkersburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Jeffries, who died in 1980.
Services were held Wednesday, 1 p.m. , at the Parsons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Parsons officiating. Burial was in the Jeffries Cemetery at Gay.
