- Winferd Wayne Litton of Surfside Beach, S.C., formerly of Charleston, died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at his home.
Born Oct. 22, 1931, in Gay, W.Va., to the late Delmer and Opal Litton. He was also predeceased by a sister, Martha Anderson. Surviving are his loving wife of 51 years, Carolyn; four sons, David, Greg and wife, Cheryl, all of Murrells Inlet, S.C., Phil, Steve and wife, Kim, all of Surfside Beach, S.C.; eight grandchildren, Travis, Tate, Tory, Taylor, Tristen, Ty, Jacob, and Noah; one great-granddaughter, Cierra; brother, Keith Litton of Parkersburg; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mr. Litton was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1954. Before moving to Myrtle Beach, S.C., he owned several restaurants including A&W Root Beer Drive Inns, Dairy Queens, and Bowincals.
A memorial service will be held at Living Faith Christian Church, 4513 Hwy 17 Bypass So! uth, Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Friday, March 24, at 11 a.m.
