LEAGUE CITY, Texas - Laoma Elizabeth Casto Jones, 80, of League City died March 31, 1999.
She was a native of Jackson County, W.Va.
Surviving: sons, Vernon Lee and Roy Vincent, both of League City, Donald W. of Ripley, W.Va., Lonnie of Staats Mill, W.Va.; daughters, Barbara Ann Monroe of Ripley, Anna Louise Lofton of Columbia Station, Ohio; sister, Launa May Casto Fox; half brothers, Billy Casto of Florida, Paul Casto of Alabama, James Casto of Ohio, Norman Casto of Evans, W.Va.; half sisters, Becky Scaggs of Florida, Ruth Parsons of Ripley.
Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, with the Rev. Charles Bolen officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Herbert Casto, of Fairplain, received a telegram Saturday that his son, Bernard Casto, was in an army hospital in Mississippi and would be a patient there for three months or more. He had been in the African and Sicilian campaigns but the telegram gave no details of his wounds, or what had caused the injury which sent him to the hospital and the family had not learned any further particulars early this week. (Jackson Herald Friday, Oct, 1, 1943).
