Ralph Casto
Ralph Casto, 83, of Nitro went home to be with the Lord Sept. 25, 2004, in Thomas Memorial Hospital.
Ralph was a Christian and a member of the West Virginia Home Mission, where he was an active member of the church choir and a former member of the Board of Directors. He retired from St. Albans Water Company in 1983, and was a World War II Army veteran, having served in the European Theater.
He was born in Staats Mill, W.Va., the son of the late Ola and Cora Rhodes Casto.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Erval Casto; and two sisters, Elva Carpenter, and Lyda Gaye Casto.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 58 years, Orpha H. Price Casto; one daughter and son-in-law, Dorma Casto Given and Frank Given of Cross Lanes; three sons and daughters-in-law, Galan and Diane Casto of Bomont, W.Va., Bryan and Cindi Casto of Nitro, and Arnie and Wendy Casto of St. Albans; two sisters, Lorena Penland of Laurel, Md., and Ida Fay Casto of Washington, D.C.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Okey and Garnet Casto of Scott Depot, W.Va., Glenver and Elaine Casto of Ripley, W.Va., and Russell and Barbara Casto of Evans, W.Va.; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and other relatives.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004, at the West Virginia Home Mission, Nitro, with Pastor Joe Scarberry officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to West Virginia Home Mission, 1109 Benamati Avenue, Nitro, WV 25143.
