A U.S.Army veteran of the Pacific Theater during World War II, he was a member of the trinity United Methodist Church, and a former 4-H leader of the Porter Explorer Club. Surviving are his wife, Delcie Reynolds, whom he married Dec 24, 1942 in Gallipolis; a daughter Barbara Sue Regent of Orlando, FL; a son, Ronald McClaskey of Fort Myers, FL; two grandchildren, Shawn McClaskey, with the US Marine Corps in San Diego, CA, and Sheri McClaaskey of Fort Myers; and a sister, Virginia Stout of Porter. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Pearl Wayne McClaskey, Cloby McClaskey, and Robert McClaskey. Services will be 1 pm Friday in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton. Burial will be in the Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 Thursday. Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 161, Vinton.
