Genevieve Josephine Fields was born March 10, 1922 at Harmony, Virginia and died JANUARY 9, 2014 at the Care Haven of Point Pleasants, Point Pleasants, West Virginia, after a brief illness. She married Ernest Dale Westfall son of Darius Milford Westfall and Dulcie Scott Westfall on Dec 27, 1938 in Catlettsburg, Kentucky, by Dee Bolt, Justice of the Peace, in Boyd County, Kentucky.
Genevieve Josephine Fields Westfall of Spencer, West Virginia, passes away Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the age of 91 at the Care Haven of Point Pleasants, after a brief illness.
She was born at Harmony, West Virginia on March 10, 1922, a daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Lillie Florence Pence Fields, and was the wife of the late Ernest Dale Westfall. She attended the Harmony Baptist and Mount Herman Churches, was a member of the Roane General Hospital Auxiliary and retired from the Spencer State Hospital. Josephine enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, crafts, grandchildren and her animals.
In addition to her parents and husband, Josephine was preceded in death by seven brothers, Elmer, Harry, Buddy, John, Fred, Leo, and Brown Fields; and three sisters, Ruth Jones, Ruble Baker, and Sybil Young.
She is survived by two sons, Bobby (Jean) Westfall of St Albans, West Virginia, and Richard, (Tina) Westfall of St Marys, West Virginia; three daughters, Kathryn, (Larry) Westfall of Edgewater, Florida, Garnet, (Bob) Dye of Bridgeport, West Virginia, and Doris (Ralph) Hannah of Pearisburg, Virginia; Twelve Grandchildren, Twelve Great-Grandchildren and five Great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Taylor Vandal Funeral Home in Spencer, West Virginia, with the Rev Larry Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Eventide Cemetery in Spencer. Visitation will be Monday for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
