Surviving: daughters, Shirley Catalano of Buckhannon, Beverly L. Carpenter of St. Albans; sons, Randall A. Carpenter and Thayer Carpenter, both of Cross Lanes; sisters, Rada Hutton of Ravenswood, Glada Horn and Freda Reynolds, both of Ripley, Myrtle Scarbrough of Dunbar, Celia Young of Cross Lanes, Frances Gray of Burley, Idaho; brother, Hays Carpenter of Ripley; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, Cross Lanes, with the Rev. William D. Layne Jr. and the Rev. Mark Hess officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
