    • Wilma Lee Edens

Wilma Lee "Billie" Edens, 81, of Tuppers Creek, Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 20, 2005, after a long illness.
Her love for the mountains, fresh air and fresh water were evident by her many and lengthy stays at her camp in Pocahontas County. Her love for the outdoors was only exceeded by her devotion to her family, church and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold O. Edens; her parents, Lawrence and Odessa Parsons; a sister, Roberta Kittrell; and brothers, Howard and Guy Parsons.
Billie and Harold were blessed with six children, Brenda L. Edens of South Charleston, Harold B. (Helen) Edens of Ripley, Sharon J. Meadows of Bancroft, James R. "Jim" (Shirley) Edens of Tuppers Creek, Gregory A. (Terri) Edens of Huntington, and Jeffrey D. (Dora) Edens of Tuppers Creek. She was also blessed to have 18 grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, nine stepgreat-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Billie is also survived by her siblings, Hazel Cavender, Virgil Parsons, Reba Burdette, Grace Miller, Rudy Parsons, Texie Starcher, Shirley Casdorph, Sue Rakes, Linda Padgett and Roger Parsons.
She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church, Sissonville. A past representative to the Silver-Haired Legislature, Billie also enjoyed painting, cooking and playing games with her family.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Maranatha Baptist Church, Sissonville, with the Rev. Bill Bartlett and the Rev. Zane Shives officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Church.
