W. Ralph Casto
W. Ralph Casto, 87, of Charleston died June 8, 2007, at Candlelight Cottage, St. Albans.
He was born March 6, 1920 in Belgrove and was a son of the late Rheuford Herman and Orpha Morris Casto.
He was a retired car salesman, a World War II Army veteran, serving in the 503rd Airborne, and a member of the Eagles, VFW and the Moose.
His wife, Betty Casto, and son, W. Ralph Casto Jr., also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children, Lee Anne Cobbs of Atlantic City, N.J., and Gina (John) Buchanan of South Charleston; sister, Evelena Westfall of Harmony; brother, Jasper Casto of Spencer; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a very close personal friend and caregiver, Frank Cantley.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 11, at Bartlett-Burdette-Cox Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Fairplain Cemetery, Fairplain. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the love and kindness given by Candlelight Cottage, St. Albans, Thomas Memorial Hospital's MedPsych Unit and the Westside Café.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to a charity of choice.
Bartlett-Burdette-Cox Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Charleston, is in charge of the arrangements.
