Funeral services for Mrs. Annie I. Rhodes, 81, widow of Marcellus Rhodes, were held from the St. Albans Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon and the burial was in the Teays Cemetary. Mrs. Rhodes died at her home Sunday following a two week illness. She was born in Jackson County, the daughter of Andrew Anderson Staats and Mary Casto Staats. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Cordie Ellen Curry of St. Albans; a brother, Isaac Staats of Ripley, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. (Jackson Herald, Friday, 16 Dec 1949)
