Note: The wife of William Bonnett Jr. spelled Leuvicy Ann on marker - the records show Levisa Ann. William Bonnett Jr. died on Jim Ridge, Jackson County, the headwaters of Thirteen Mile Creek, and not on the waters of Poca as the record shows.

William Bonnet came about 1811. probably soon after his marriage. He is spoken of as a large muscular man, and was noted for his great strength and activity. It is said that he would flail wheat for one bushel out of seven or eight. He married Barbara Harpold, who was of German descent. She is said to have spoken English very brokenly. She was a sister of John and Solomon Harpold, and is descreibed as being a very tall woman. She was born 3 Feb 1784 and lived to be 83 years old. She died in 1867.
