Jeems "Jim" Casto

Jeems E. “Jim” Casto, 87 of Ripley, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2018 at his home following a long illness.
Jim was born July 28, 1930 in Ripley, a son of the late Holly and Frances Karr Casto. He was a graduate of Ripley High School and went on to Heavy Equipment Operating Training. Jim worked several years as a Heavy Equipment Operator in the Coal Industry and offered his talents in the construction Ball Fields in Ripley. He was an avid supporter of Ripley Athletics and you could always count on him being at sporting events when his health allowed. He loved watching his son and grandson in their sporting events and was proud that they went on to become coaches.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jeanne Slaven Casto; his son Bryce Casto and wife Cathy of Dunbar; daughter Jeemisa Snyder and her husband Wayne of Mt. Laurel, NJ; his beloved grandchildren, Courtney Snyder, Jake Snyder and Zach Casto; brother Dick Casto and his wife Helen of Ripley and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, William “Bill” Casto.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Rev. Dr. Ford Price officiating.
