      George 7/22/1930 Lloyd D & Lessie

      George Robert Bonnett, 73, of Vienna died Sept. 20, 2006, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
      He was born July 22, 1933, in Jackson County, a son of the late Lloyd and Lessie Randolph Bonnett. George started employment with Burdette Oxygen in 1964 and was instrumental in the construction of the plant. He retired in 1998 from the plant, currently AGA Gas, after more than 35 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran, member of the Parkersburg Amateur Radio Klub with call letters, K8VAH, and the Blennerhassett Remote Control Plane Club.
      He was survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruby E. Bonnett; five children, Connie Thorne and husband, Jerry, of Vienna, Michael Bonnett and wife, Paula, of Middleport, Ohio, David Bonnett and fiance, Christina Burk, both of Parkersburg, Cindy Plants and husband, James, of Vienna and Lisa Edgar and husband, Harold, of Williamstown; 14 grandchildren, Amy Thorne, Shannon Stewart, Chad, Bre, Jeffrey and Nathan Bonnett, Craig and Amanda Boso, Christopher and Casey Browning, Jessica McElroy, Caleb Plants, Landon Edgar and Cameron Tracewell; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Carroll Bonnett of Rockport; and three sisters, Evelyn Church of Marietta, Ireta Dillon of Sandyville and Ilene Burk of Rockport.

      In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Janet Anderson, Pat Taylor and Violet West; and one infant sister.

      Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Steven Rhoades officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery North with a military graveside service by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
